Yonkers New York Culture
As a week-long debate continues over the songs and artists that helped define New York rap, we introduce 15 of the most important crews and collectives. This often short history dates back to the birth of rap culture and should be known as one of the most influential hip-hop cultures in America. We # Ve has teamed up with the New Jersey Historical Society to give a look back at the rise and fall of some of our city's greatest rap artists. The neighborhood is made up of several neighborhoods around Fordham University and features a unique mix of historic buildings, restaurants, shops and bars. The new amphitheater is located in the heart of Manhattan's East Village, just across the Brooklyn-Queens border.
With a median value of $355,600, homes are affordable by New York standards, and access to the Bronx and Manhattan is easy. The Grand Concourse in the South Bronx is the site of Yankee Stadium and the Bronx Documentary Center. Bus services to Yonkers are provided by the MTA Bus Company, which operates routes to and from New York City, Manhattan, the Bronx and Long Island City. Commuter service for New Yorkers in Yonker, as well as to Manhattan and New Jersey and Staten Island, both inside and outside the city. The MTA's bus service from the Westchester County Courthouse to the Grand Concourse was discontinued in December 2009. The New York Water Taxi used to run a ferry service on the Hudson River between the South Bronx and Manhattan, but stopped operating in January 2009 due to financial difficulties.
With the loss of jobs in the city of Yonkers, it has become primarily a residential area, and neighborhoods like Crestwood and Park Hill have become popular with affluent New Yorkers who want to live in Manhattan given the city's amenities. The trend of moving to the suburbs to grow up in New York City apartments is not a new phenomenon.
Separated by water from the more densely populated boroughs of New Jersey and bordered by New Jersey, Staten Island is a great place for families looking for parks, activities and the benefits of suburban living. White Plains has many amenities, such as a large number of parks and a variety of restaurants that are a big attraction. There are plenty of great restaurants to explore and proximity to the Bronx and Manhattan is one of the most sought after parts of New York City.
The prices and experiences are similar to those in New York City, but are much more affordable than you might think if you live in the suburbs. Queens offers rents between $1,000 and $2,500 a month for a one-bedroom apartment in an upscale neighborhood. The Bronx offers a variety of amenities including parks, restaurants and a large number of parks and restaurants.
Measured from Broadway to Caryl Avenue in Yonkers, it is the southernmost point of Yonker, with a population of about 2,000 people.
This part of the Bronx resembles a suburb rather than the northern city of Greenburgh. Some residents call the city the Sixth District, pointing to a failed merger vote between Yonkers and Bronx counties in the late 1990s in favor of a single district.
The vibrant Irish community, which shares the Woodlawn section of the Bronx, is considered by many residents to be the true center of Yonkers. There is a Brooklyn stereotype just west of Manhattan and under the famous Brooklyn Bridge. If this characterization holds, Brooklyn doesn't have as much cultural influence and clout as Manhattan.
New York consists of districts separated by rivers and connected by ferries and bridges. Yonkers, the desert island on the southwest edge of the city, is home to the largest population group in New York City and the only district with its own city government.
The state of New York has about 62 cities, with New York City being the American Northeast and Buffalo being considered by some to be the "American Northeast" because it is located on the western edge of the state, while its culture is more similar to the American Midwest. There are only three cities in the United States with a population of more than 1.5 million people, but of these, only New York City is very large and is led by Buffalo.
This is not surprising, as the southeastern Yonkers district is located on the Cross County Parkway, a major access road to New York City. Major and limited access roads to Yonkers include the Hudson River Parkway, Long Island Rail Road and the Staten Island Expressway.
